The Battle Sin Wages and the Gift of the Confessional

Have you ever gotten sick of confessing the same sin over and over again? I have.  There was a time in my life when I was going to Confession on a monthly basis for the same exact sin. It was exhausting. Even though I always left feeling grateful for the forgiveness of my sins, the…

I think one of the absolute coolest/best things that Kristin from @manyhailmarysatatime has facilitated online (in addition—obviously☺️—to promoting the frequent prayer of the rosary), is community. So often, people focus so much on the personal relationship with Jesus, forgetting that we are also called to form relationships in the faith. While it’s true that we were created for personal intimate communion with Jesus, we’re not meant to worship merely in an isolated manner or with an individualistic outlook. We are communal beings, called to grow in love and friendship TOGETHER. But this can be hard in so many ways! What if you don’t have that community? What if you feel uncomfortable praying out loud with someone else? What if people around you—close friends and family—don’t understand your faith? Whatever your situation, it’s so important to keep in mind that SO many blessings are found in building friendships in the faith—ideally in person, but also online! (How cool that we can do that now!) If you’re struggling in the faith, feel alone, want to grow or hope to build lasting friendships...invite a friend or someone new over for coffee, prayer, and conversation! Grab a friend and go to Mass together! Start a study in your home! Be bold! Reach out! You can also join one of the many beautiful faith-filled communities online and meet friends there as well☺️. There’s so much grace in community! Sometimes it just takes a bit of bravery to reach out to someone in order to build a lasting friendship. If its rooted in Christ, I promise you...it will be a huge blessing in your life! . . What’s your favorite way to build friendships in the faith? (Online or in person.) Give ideas below!👇🏼💗My favorite way is by having dinner and a rosary with friends and family! 👌🏼❤️ . . (This gorgeous rosary is an @mariangraces rosary. (Her 📸 as well.) I’m dying to own it someday!! ❤️)

Snow days of Winter. We may have missed a ton of school this February, but we’re making up for it in hot chocolate, books, snowball fights, and movies. 💙❄️ . . How are you beating this cold winter??? Hope you’re staying warm!💙
I used to HATE it when my husband would asked me what I did that day. There he was, just trying to be sweet to see how my day went, and all I heard in my head was an accusation: “What you do isn’t good enough.” It wasn’t coming from him, obviously, but from deep rooted lie that was telling me that what I do at home—especially on those days that are merely filled with laundry, story time, dishes, and diaper changes—is not “GOOD” enough. It finally hit me that my reaction to him had nothing to do with his question, and everything to do with my perception of what “good enough” is. Is “good enough” merely wrapped up in job titles and personal achievement? What does it mean to be “good” in the Lord’s eyes? St. Therese helped me understand that every little thing we do—no matter what situation we find ourselves in life—the most important calling we all have is to do all things with great love. This is what we should measure our ideas of what it means to be “good enough” against! How much did we love today? Were we focused inward, on the good of the self—or were we seeking the good of others in all that we do? See, you can do that as a successful lawyer, author, business woman, doctor, athlete...and as a stay at home mama! We can ALL strive to live this calling out! And if we did—if we didn’t seek the world’s definition of “good enough,” but sought always to please the Lord by our LOVE, what a difference it would make in our homes, our communities, in our nation, and in our world! Perhaps that world peace that we all wish for begins in the least likely place we might think it does...in all the little things. For me...in the dishes, the piles of laundry, the diaper changes, and in story time. Let’s all stop striving for the world’s idea of “perfection,” and work always to live up to our calling to, first and foremost, do all things—big or small—with great love. ❤️ . . What does your “yes” to God look like? What little ways do you strive to love Him and others above all?
How often do we forget that as Christ came a Savior, we are the ones in need of saving? To have life as we wish it to be..to experience the full extent of joy...to love as we were created to love and to Be loved as we were created to be loved...to be free from sin and its grip on our lives...to live full and happy lives instead of waking daily with uninspired reasons to get up in the morning...to walk in holiness and light, rather than in darkness, afraid of death...Christ came to redeem us so we might live in Him. He came for each and every one of us, so that we might choose to live in Him and through Him, and in so choosing, live as we were created to be! . . “If Christ has not been raised, your faith is pointless and you have not, after all, been released from your sins. In addition, those who have fallen asleep in Christ are utterly lost. If our hope in Christ has been for this life only, we are of all people the most pitiable. In fact, however, Christ has been raised from the dead, as the first-fruits of all who have fallen asleep. For since death came through a human being, the resurrection of the dead came also through a human being. For just as in Adam all die, so too in Christ shall all be brought to life...” -1 Cor. 15:16-22 . . #catholic #christian #catholicfaith #catholicism #bissisterhood #jesus #prayer #catholicliving #catholicsisters #projectblessed #peaceinchrist #christianliving #jesuslovesyou #catholicism #catholicblogger #blogger #heartofchrist #holyspirit #catholicconnect #philotheafound #hope #catholicnerdout
