(I can say that because I’m from the south, right!?) 🌵 Just a little Friday introduction for all you new sweet faces! 💗I’m Lauren Montgomery. What you’ll find on my page is a little window into my life: primarily faith, family, marriage, with a mix of my silly side. 🤪 I have a confession for you: I never really used to openly talk about Jesus with people. Though I’ve always had a strong faith, saying the name of Jesus out loud to people made me feel uncomfortable. I’m not really sure why I shied away from saying his Precious name, but I did...and I’m ashamed to admit it. About five years ago I felt the Holy Spirit telling me to stop being so afraid—to get comfortable sharing my faith and proclaiming the goodness of Christ. If you know me on here and in real life, I hope that it’s now clear that I’m no longer ashamed. Jesus is the King and Lord of my life, and I want everyone to know it! 👑 Now, see how I started with fart jokes and ended up here? That’s my life. It’s a real mishmash of the crazy and silly, the contemplative and serious. I love sharing my faith with you! It’s a part of me I won’t ever hide from again! Thank you for every sweet message, comment, and especially dm you’ve shared with me. Only thing greater than having a place to share my faith, is having you share yours with me in return. It’s a real blessing.💗
I know we’re all getting ready for Thanksgiving (pulling out those old maternity pants, a la Joey Tribbiani, in order to make room for all the PIE 🥧!) but just a heads up: Advent is just a little over two weeks away! I think it’s a great time to take inventory of what you have and what you need for the Advent season. (I still have to pick up new advent candles and a wreath!) One of the things that really made the Advent season beautiful for me these past couple of years is taking the time to pray, journal, and meditate on a daily basis. This time of year is just crazy busy, and it can be SO hard to find time to cultivate prayer (particularly mindful and peaceful time with God). One thing that has really helped make my life easier during these busy seasons are the @takeupandread journals! They’ve been such a vital tool in my spiritual life! I absolutely love @elizabethfoss spiritual insights (she’s so wise!), and love that this journal includes scripture, reflections, calls to action-and even a place for planning out your Christmas to-dos! I recently read somewhere that faith is like a trust fall. Those words have been turning over and over in my mind, a reminder for me to freely let go and trust Christ with my whole heart and life. Our Lord will always be there to catch us, support us, uplift us, and comfort us in His love. He is the Good Shepherd, always guiding us home to life in Him. Fall into Him, friends. He’s waiting for you with arms wide open. He’s the happiness and the warm embrace your soul is restless for.
