It has been so long since I’ve had a chance to sit down and write!  At the end of my second trimester, I was so exhausted that I didn’t have the energy to do much of anything, much less blog.  It’s always around that time in my pregnancies where I hit the wall: none of my clothes fit, I’m just hangry all the time, and all I want to do when I get a spare second is nap!

Still, somehow I found time dance it out!

We welcomed our sweet baby Emilia to the world on April 22nd, and she has been such a joy in our lives. Labor was what it always is: tough business. With lots of prayer I was able to make it through my contractions just fine.  It wasn’t until the end that I about lost my mind.  I’m not proud of all the “F” bombs that flew from my mouth in the final stages of labor!

But when it was all said and done…there she was. Our little girl:img_6672

Meeting your child for the first time is a feeling that never gets old.

It’s like I could see, the second that I held her in my arms, all that she would be in the next few years of her life. I could see her first rolls, her first smiles, her first laughs. I could clearly envision her rolling around with her siblings, laughing to no end, and fitting right in with her brother and sister who already loved her so much. I could even smile at the vision of her future tantrums and fits! I could see how wonderful it was going to be to witness this little baby’s growth over the years, and how exciting it would be to see her develop into own unique little person. What a tremendous blessing that our family would be a witness to it all.

Emilia has been such a gift, especially because she is a good sleeper, eater, and gentle spirit!  Though in the beginning we had a couple of tough nights with fussiness, for the most part she is a mild-mannered, and sweet, sweet baby.

Honestly, time has flown by so fast with her.  I will forever think it is an unfair fact of life that time seems to slow down to snail’s pace during the third trimester of pregnancy, but when the baby comes out all new and snuggly, time flies at glacier speed.  Not. Fair.

We baptized her just before she turned one month old:

Just look at that babe!

And as for our other kiddos?

They are absolutely smitten:
