I was just telling Joe how big of a year 2017 was for me, and he reminded me that, really, with our little family, every year brings forth a lot of wonderful and exciting things.  It’s funny looking back at my “best nine of 2017” from instagram, most of the photos are of our family together.  None were really eventful in a monumental sense, but each photo of us together is from a day well spent as a family.

Though 2016 was similarly great, 2017 brought a couple of new opportunities and blessings that made the year especially wonderful.

-We saw Garth Brooks! Twice!  This was a big highlight of the year.  Seeing Garth Brooks live was something I could cross off my bucket list–he has been a family favorite since I was a kid!

-One of the most significant events of 2017 for me was my pilgrimage to Italy.  I wrote a few posts about how I made the decision to go, and a couple more about my amazing experience there.  It was a great highlight of the year.

-We had a great summer with family and friends at the pool and the lake.  Eli even caught his first fish!

-Joe went to India (Pictures to come…)

-My friends from New Mexico came to visit me for a week.

-We went to Colorado with my sisters family.

-Eli started preschool

-We went to California to visit my brother-in-law’s family

-We announced our pregnancy with our little girl, due in April!

-Joe and I celebrated our fifth year anniversary!

-I got to celebrate my friend of over 25 years getting married

-We finished out the year with a wonderful time in New Mexico with family.  I am so glad we’re still able to make the trip to spend the holidays with them!

My accomplished goals in 2017:

-I read the whole Bible in a year with the Coming Home Network’s guide

-I read more books than ever by following my resolution to actually finish the books I pick up.  Here are my quarterly reviews: 1, 2 and 3 and 4.

-I went to Italy.  Did I mention I went to Italy!?

All in all, 2017 was a wonderful year. Can’t wait to see what 2018 has in store for our family, and can’t wait to hold our little girl in my arms come April!

  1. I would love to hear more about your experience using that guide to read the Bible in a year. I’m super interested but I’d like to know someone else’s experiences that also has a few munchkins potentially interrupting haha

    1. You got it! I will publish my experiences soon–I’ve been wanting to do that so thanks for asking! It was an entirely positive experience so I will let you know how I accomplished it–tiny interrupting munchkins and all–soon! ❤
